I recently came across a study of 79 breeds of dogs, ranked from smartest, to uhh, dumbest.
'The Intelligence of Dogs' was written by Stanley Coren, a professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver - and I can't stop looking at it. At first I thought that of course I'd want a dog from the top of the list - but the more I look at this guy, mister last-in-line, the more I LOVE him.
That face!
That hair!
That swimming pool in the background!
Who were his owners?!
Also attached, a classic. I think when it comes down to it, I'd really like a mutt, just like Annie.
And if you're curious, here's a link to the wiki page with the full run-down. Don't be sad if your pooch is at the bottom. Annie and her "dumb dog" had a very special thing going on...
