Juliet of The Spirits

Juliet of The Spirits is a 1965 surrealist drama directed by Federico Fellini. It was Fellini's first feature-length colour film.
What I love most is the sweet protagonist, Giulietta, played by Giulietta Masina - an aging Italian housewife worried about her husband's fidelity. Giulietta is prone to fantastical daydreams, spirit-seeing and killer clothes. Her friends and family are gorgeous and whimsical people who wear gigantic hats and an abundance of tulle and feathers.
Ultimately though, it's a character driven piece, and I'm grateful for a character so rich and complex played by a non-conventional looking lady in her 40's.
