Nightflight to Venus, Moccassin Flower, Homemade Almond Milk, Peace, and Love...

I've recently been trying to make a shift in some habits in my life (as a counter-action to a bit of general over-indulging), and I thought I'd share one of them: homemade almond milk! It's incredibly easy and really satisfying, and frankly, kind of a shame more people don't realize that they can do this on their own. Also really great, and new to my Springtime Hippie Haven Rainbow Tyme regime: homemade nut butter, coconut oil facial cleansing, essential oils for the face, and green juicing. Honestly, it's like the sun came out and woke up the good witch in me.

Coming up next - my dear friend (and incredible naturopath), Sarah Bennett, has been fermenting her own kefir from a grain one of her clients gave her, and she's promised to share some with me once the culture multiplies a few more times.

So, it's basically a regular good vibes commune around my apartment these days. Here's a great video on how to make any nut or seed milk - and if you haven't checked out My New Roots yet, it's a really beautiful and informative site. I've also been whiling away the hours watching the videos of these two crazy yogis - I'll admit they make me laugh, but I keep coming back, because their lake is gorge, and their products look incredible (in particular: the Seabuckthorn facial oil, the Poetic Pitts deodorant, the Forest Colognes, and their raw chocolate bars). Sending white light to you guys. Leave me your own homemade tips in the comments?
*PS - if you don't have cheesecloth or nutbags or whatever on hand (nutbags? umm, anyhow..) you can also use a fine sieve to strain the milk. That's what I did and it was great. Also, you most def have to soak the seeds/nuts before blending, as it nearly doubles the volume of the product.
