Lots of Toronto ladies are sticking to the nu goth vibe that's been happening here (forever, it feels like), in tandem with the more avant fashion kids who've been slip sliding into 90's cyber club-kid land - but for me, my first instincts are still plain old masculine/feminine dressing. My friend Chris once described a nerdy-looking girl we know as 'A geek on the streets, but a freak in the sheets'...and I think these looks from the Chloe Fall 2012 RTW collection could possibly encapsulate that phrase. Is that gross? yes. ok.

Anyhow, what better way to do modern femmy butch than this? Clare Waight Keller (of former Pringle of Scotland fame) knocked these little ensembles out of the park. It's all in the details. Boring old bookish details, mon! MILF-y, freaky, little details, mon! They've got volume; good colour combo's for fall (light colours in the fall are so nice, hear me now) and a shoe with a flattering ankle strap.  Cuh-mon.
