Okaaay, so they're a teeny bit ugly....But I think the reason people love them is because of this fact, not in spite of it. The face of a sledge hammer! And the disposition of a highly intelligent (but not pretentious) baby. Wiki describes them as having an egg-shaped head, small triangular eyes, and a "jaunty" gait. Ha!
I couldn't find them on my favourite dog intelligence guide, but I've read elsewhere that they are pret-ty smart, with a keen sense of judgement and a craving for human affection. Sounds right up my alley...
